Dean’s Ping Pong Tournament

College of Engineering Students,

The Associated Engineering Student Council would like to invite you to the first ever Dean’s Ping Pong Tournament. This is a networking event with faculty and staff in the College of Engineering, mixed with a little bit of fun and free food! Attached is a flyer with more information about our event.
Our event will be held on April 13th, from 11:30am-1:30pm, in Montezuma Hall.

Explore SDSU Volunteers

SWE SDSU will be table-ing at Explore SDSU this Saturday, March 19th from 9:00-2:00. Volunteers are needed to man the table and talk to prospective students, parents, etc. Please arrive on time and wear a SWE shirt (or other SDSU apparel).

ENGINEERING DESIGN CHALLENGE

Project: Hack into a PS4 controller using an arduino and breadboard to control a motor. Extra points for bidirectional control.
Teams: 5 groups of 5
Food: Bagels/fruit/water & snacks
Prize: 1st (each team member gets a TBD giftcard) , 2nd, 3rd
Judges: SDSU Faculty & Industry Sponsors

Sat, April 9 | 1PM-5PM | ME/AE/PHYS
Project: Use PS4 Controlled motor to make an aileron using the motor, 4 bar linkage systems, and one part manufactured on the laser cutter.
Teams: 5 groups of 5
Food: Pizza/water & snacks
Prize: 1st (each team member gets a TBD giftcard) , 2nd, 3rd
Judges: SDSU Faculty & Industry Sponsors

Sun, April 10 | 9AM-1PM | CIV/CON/ENV
Project: Design a permanent structure that serves two purposes with one of them being a humanitarian effort. i.e. provide clean water, clean up the air, provide energy, etc... Perhaps airport themed?
Teams: 5 groups of 5
Food: Bagels/fruit/water & snacks
Prize: 1st (each team member gets a TBD giftcard) , 2nd, 3rd
Judges: SDSU Faculty & Industry Sponsors

Fee: $5 per person (to reserve spot and cover food costs) paid to @nataliebest after you sign up

Don't worry about finding a team. We will form them for you so that each team has a good mix of majors. Full directions listed on sign up sheet.

Happy hour: networking and fundraising

March 10th, come support SWE SDSU and network with peers and professionals. Fundraiser will be from 4-8 pm. Networking will be from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Those under 21 are welcome from 4-7pm. Business casual attire is requested (dark jeans, polos, something appropriate for work and Effin's).

Gingerbread Design Competition: All Engineering Clubs

We will be teaming up with all of the other engineering clubs on campus for a gingerbread extravaganza. You will make teams, and compete to see who can build the coolest gingerbread design. It can be anything, a dragon, a snowman. Skies the limits. More information to come.
