What inspired you to choose your major?:
​Since a young age, I have been captivated by space travel and exploration of the unknown. I also wanted to pursue a major that I believed would leave a positive impact on the world.
How has SWE impacted you?:​
​SWE has left such a positive impact on my life and introduced me to many of my closest friends. It has also provided me with invaluable professional and networking opportunities. I am so thankful for all the memories I have and the invaluable support system SWE has given me.
Fun Fact: 
I have my Private Pilot's License.

Mechanical engineering offered the most broad option for me, as someone who didn’t know a lot about the engineering fields. I like getting the opportunity to learn a little bit about many fields which has allowed me to find the topics I am passionate about.

​I have met the most amazing women in SWE. These members have allowed me to grow and gain valuable professional experiences to better myself. I have made many profession connects and even gotten an internship through the SDSU SWE connections.

Dexcom, a leading company in continuous glucose monitoring systems, and NIWC, a key player in developing advanced naval technologies, provided me with invaluable internship experiences. During my internship at Dexcom, I worked in operations, handling crucial documentation to support manufacturing processes for continuous glucose monitoring systems. Additionally, I served as an investigator to identify and resolve issues within the manufacturing lines, enhancing overall efficiency and product quality. At NIWC, I served as a design engineer, focusing on underwater applications to maximize reusable energy. I developed innovative solutions, created detailed design specifications, and collaborated with cross-functional teams, gaining insights into sustainable energy systems and the importance of teamwork in complex projects.
​​​What inspired you to choose your major?:
I chose to major in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in bioengineering to design innovative medical technologies that can be distributed worldwide, even in underprivileged regions. My goal is to help everyone access basic medical amenities and enhance their quality of life. I aspire to start my own company dedicated to serving humanity and ensuring equitable healthcare for all.
How has SWE impacted you?:​
Being involved with SWE has greatly benefited me by boosting my confidence in engineering and allowing me to surround myself with innovative thinkers. Through SWE, I have gained valuable insights, support, and inspiration from a network of like-minded individuals, further fueling my passion for engineering and my drive to make a positive impact in the field.

​Although I haven't had an internship in the field yet, my experience managing social media for a creator with over 4 million followers has equipped me with invaluable skills that I can apply in software engineering.
​​​What inspired you to choose your major?:
I love technology and problem-solving! I've had some experience with coding and robotics and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges they presented. Computer science felt like the perfect fit to continue exploring these interests and further develop my skills.
How has SWE impacted you?:​
​Although new to SWE, I've greatly benefited from their networking events, where I've learned about various technical roles and connected with mentors. Engaging with this community has also been incredibly supportive, helping me better understand my career aspirations and introducing me to like-minded individuals.

I always loved math and wanted to help others in any way that I can. I enjoyed reading and studying, and loved my high school physics and engineering courses. In addition, I've always been fascinated by architecture so I decided civil engineering was the best path for me. ​​

SWE has allowed me to make connections, including leading me to my first internship. I have met new people, been on some amazing trips, gotten to adapt to life in college and built a wonderful support network. SWE is more than just an organization, it is a network and support and brought me here.

​​​What inspired you to choose your major?:
​I decided to choose civil engineering as my major because growing up I have always enjoyed math and problem solving, so I thought that engineering would fit my strengths best. My ultimate goal is to work on building homes and other residential buildings because it has always been something I have been interested in.​
How has SWE impacted you?:​​
​SWE has had such a big impact in both my academic and social life. I have made so many connections and new friends just from being in SWE and partaking in events. Being a part of SWE has provided me with so many opportunities to network with different companies and get my name out there while also being a part of a group of girls who all support each other and are always there for one another.

I was inspired by my love of learning and math. Working in hardware has proved my love of mechanical engineering and i’m excited to see where my post-grad career takes me.
