What inspired you to choose your major?
I chose computer science because I've always been fascinated by the ability to build something from scratch, whether it's an app, website, or a system, and see it make a positive impact on people's lives. I'm also drawn to how quickly the field evolves, as it motivates me to continue learning and growing.
How has SWE impacted you?​
SWE has introduced me to some of my closest friends, countless memories, and opportunities to grow professionally by connecting with various companies. Most importantly, it has given me a supportive community of women who uplift and encourage each other every step of the way.

​​​Experience:
This past summer I had the pleasure of working with University of Nevada, Reno doing research in the Electrical Engineering Department. During this time I worked on creating a Hybrid Electric Vehicle test bench to act as an educational tool for high school students. Beyond the technical skills I earned from this research, I also tested my collaboration by working with RET teachers and a lab partner!
​​​What inspired you to choose your major?​
Because of my passion for the environment, I wanted to work with the intersectionality of technology and bettering the planet.​
How has SWE impacted you?​​
SWE has been the best club I have been involved in! The opportunities offered throughout my time not only as a member but on the executive board has been unforgettable. SWE has introduced me to so many inspirational women in tech and really helped me find my community on this vast campus.

​​​What inspired you to choose your major?
I chose computer science because I want to develop technologies that improve accessibility and make daily life easier for people with different needs. The field allows me to combine problem-solving with creativity, while working on projects that create inclusive solutions and expand opportunities for others.
How has SWE impacted you?​
SWE has helped me connect with so many new people, i’ve made some really good friends from attending the GBM’s. There is also so much opportunity for growth and professional development through the club!

My #1 bucket list item at the moment is to go skydiving!

Experience:
In summer 2025 I was a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Wearable Sensing, I got to work with technicians to identify manufacturing errors in dry EEG headsets and help to correct the flaws. During the 2024-2025 school year I worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Computational Mechanics Lab modeling hydrogen embrittlement processes.
What inspired you to choose your major?
I’ve always loved math and wanted to pursue a field where I could apply it in a hands-on way to make a real impact. This major felt like the perfect combination of both. In high school, I really enjoyed all of my engineering courses, and those experiences further solidified my interest in continuing down this path.
How has SWE impacted you?​
SWE has given me the opportunity to connect with a community of people who truly understand the challenges and rewards of pursuing an engineering degree. Through these connections, I’ve gained valuable experiences, and support that have helped me grow both personally and professionally.

I know how to solder with a microscope. ​

I wanted to join the Air Force when I graduated high school to become a Fighter Jet pilot. However, I did not qualify because I did not reach the height requirement. I have always loved planes and math and that brought me to choose Aerospace!

They have given me so many opportunities to network and meet engineering professionals. I found my community through SWE and am forever grateful.
