What made you choose Engineering?
I’ve always loved math and science, choosing engineering allowed me to apply math and science in a way that will improve other people’s lives.
How has SWE impacted you?
I joined SWE as a transfer student last year, knowing very little people at SDSU. SWE gave me the opportunity to meet so many women that shared my interests and passions which I believe has been such a tremendous part of my success here at SDSU. These women have given me the resources and confidence to reach into new opportunities that I would have otherwise never known about. SWE has also helped me with school financially, by awarding me an academic scholarship.
If it wasn't for COVID, where in the world would you love to travel?
Venice Italy because I was named after that city!

Internship/ job experience:
I don't have an internship yet, but this year I'm working as a TA for CIV E 302.
What made you choose Engineering?
I had a teacher in high school that convinced me I was smart enough for engineering and I have always loved math and buildings so I thought civil would be the perfect fit for me!
Favorite thing about SWE?
Having a group of strong, independent women who understand the struggles of being a woman in STEM and are there to support each other. Everyone in our club is so fun and nice :)
If it wasn't for COVID, where in the world would you love to travel?
Last summer I had plans to study abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland which obviously got canceled, so I'm dying to travel there when it's safe again!

What made you choose Engineering?
I chose environmental engineering as my major because I'm interested in designing and developing solutions for the many environmental issues we are currently facing today and work towards a promising, sustainable future for us all.
Favorite thing about SWE?
SWE has provided me with a community of inspiring women who motivate me to pursue the male-dominated field that is engineering. I am also grateful for the many professional and scholarship opportunities that SWE has that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise.
If it wasn't for COVID, where in the world would you love to travel?
I would love to travel to Tokyo, Japan.

Internship/
job experience

What made you choose Engineering?
I chose civil engineering because I have always loved math and art and wanted to find something where I could apply both. After researching several majors, I decided civil engineering would be the best since it is such a broad field. I hope to become a structural engineer and to help design tall skyscrapers.
Favorite thing about SWE?
Swe has taught me how important it is to be a woman in stem and to encourage other women and younger women to be a stem major and to not be intimidated by male dominated fields.
If it wasn't for COVID, where in the world would you love to travel?
I would love to travel to Italy.
