It is time again for SWEET!  This year's theme is the science and technology of the Renaissance!  Scheduled for April 20th, 2013 from 11:30AM to 5:30AM, this annual collaboration with San Diego Girl Scouts Imperial Council is a great opportunity to give back to the community and to encourage our future women engineers.  SWE-SD partnership with the Girl Scouts creates and provides an incredible half day workshop full of engineering-related activities for 5th - 8th grade girls from throughout San Diego county

As a committee member, you will work with female engineers to help create, plan and coordinate the activities.  Committee meetings are held every other Thursday at 6pm (starting on Feb. 21).  Hope to see you there!  If you are interested in volunteering, but can't make the meeting please contact [email protected] or just fill out the volunteer sign up here!

Interested in becoming an officer for SWE?  We are having elections next week March 26 in Aztec Mesa 113 at 3:30pm.  If you would like to run for a position please write a short paragraph describing why you want to fill this position and what you think you can bring to this organization!  Send these paragraphs to our president at [email protected].  Please be aware that if you would like to run, you MUST BE PRESENT at next week's meeting.  Also, just so we have an idea of who is going, please RSVP on the facebook event.  Hope to see all future officers there! Come join SWE for Thirsty Thursday at Bridges & Bar Grill!  This is a great opportunity to network with San Diego professionals as well as with EWB and ITE of SDSU.  The event is open to all ages and will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 8pm to 12am.  Proceeds will go to bringing clean drinking water to a community in Honduras so invite all of your friends and see you there!

Hi everyone! SDSU MAES (Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists) is looking for volunteers for the Girls Day Out event taking place on Saturday, March 9, 2013.  Come and help young middle school girls take their first step towards a degree in math, engineering, and science!  Science projects and lab tours will be taking place on the SDSU campus.  If interested, please sign up here.  This is a great opportunity to reach out to the community and encourage girls to pursue careers in these fields.  Hope to see everyone there!
